Emergency Services Planning Map for the Mahoosucs

In 2016, Mahoosuc Pathways with the support of the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation and the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund worked with the Center for Community GIS to create the Emergency Services Planning Map for the Mahoosucs (ESPMM).

The primary objectives of the ESPMM are:

  •          Creating a connecting database and map to the already existing Emergency Services Planning map in the High Peaks region that covers the entirety of the western mountains of Maine.
  •          Building relationships in the Mahoosucs by connecting with emergency service personal and agencies, landowners, trail managers and recreation groups.
  •          Integrating data accurately to map motorized and non-motorized trail systems for public consumption and recreation planning efforts in the Mahoosucs.

This project was funded in part by the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund, in which proceeds from the sale of a dedicated instant lottery ticket currently Moose Money are used to support outdoor recreation and natural resource conservation. For more information about MOHF, go to www.maine.gov/ifw/mohf
